Systems Analyst


The primary responsibilities of Analysts at Ruralogic are to understand various industries/business
practices, work with clients to define specifications for application or report development.
Design and develop applications or reports to meet client specifications, test applications/reports
to ensure they are functioning according to client specifications/industry standards, work with
clients to train them on new product/report functionality and successfully deploy application/reports
to the client. Ideal candidates will have excellent customer service skills, problem solving and
analytical/technical troubleshooting skills; effective oral and written communication skills; be a
team player; as well as organized, professional, and flexible.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand general business practices and work with client to define application and report specifications in various Information Technology applications such as Java, Crystal Reports and Web site development.
  • Design applications/reports according to client specifications; provide prototypes to clients to confirm application/report specifications.
  • Develop application/reports per agreed upon client specifications and industry standards.
  • Create testing strategy, testing scenarios based on client specifications and tests programming code.
  • Work with Team Lead/Manager to ensure programming standards are met and application/report quality is above standards and meet client specifications, attend code reviews.
  • Promote code to production and receive sign-off that client specifications have been met.
  • Understand Ruralogicâ??s Project/Implementation methodology/project lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all agreed upon timelines are met or exceeded.
  • Track all hours worked through company time reporting system to ensure that the client is billed accurately for work performed.
  • Document all programming developed.
  • Coordinate programming development with Team Lead and Project Team assigned.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ruralogic is looking for candidates that have backgrounds in various industries across multiple disciplines that have the ability and willingness to learn.
Candidates will be trained in Information Technology through the pre-employment process and the On the Job Training program; a background in Information Technology
is not a requirement for the Analyst position with Ruralogic. Additional job qualifications are listed below.

  • Drive and dedication to learn Information Technology and/or have experience in the industry.
  • Ability to work with clients to determine project outcomes, timelines, constraints and changes and work on multiple client engagements at one time.
  • Ability to multi-task and set prioritization based on client needs and timelines.
  • Strong creativity and good problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, accountable and the ability to see things through completion.
  • Forward thinker and the ability to understand the big picture and how their work impacts the company's performance and improves their local community.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral/written).
  • Success working with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to operate in a team environment.
  • Experience in computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Visio and Project not required but a plus.
  • Prior experience with SQL based programming languages, relational databases and ERP systems not required but a plus.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree not required but a plus.
