Ruralogic, Inc. was established in 2010 to provide clients full benefits of information technology and business process outsourcing through an American-based organization. By providing high quality services from rural areas and small communities, clients achieve cost objectives without the disadvantages of international outsourcing. Ruralogic’s service approach delivers the anticipated benefits clients expect, while also providing substantial economic benefits to the communities where we operate. Our Leadership Team
C. David Snyder – Chairman
As founder of Ruralogic, Dave’s vision to repatriate jobs to communities that have experienced economic hardships became a reality in early 2010. In addition to chairing the Board of Directors, he is responsible for the strategic direction and management of Ruralogic. Dave is the primary decision maker and sets the tone for the company’s values and culture. His commitment to local communities, understanding client needs and delivering the highest quality service is fundamental to the success the company. Dave has extensive corporate and entrepreneurial leadership experience. Prior to forming Ruralogic, he founded and continues to serve as Chairman, President and CEO of Attevo, a global business technology services firm enabling entities around the world to become more productive and sustainable by thinking strategically and facilitating the use of technology to optimize business process and implement enterprise solutions. Previously, Dave served as Chairman, President and CEO of Realogic Inc, 350+ employee technology consulting and systems integration firm which he founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1993. Internationally-known, the firm ranked in “Inc” magazine’s 1997 and 1998 list of the 500 fastest-growing companies. Realogic was acquired by Computer Associates International (now CA) in 1998. Before Realogic, Dave held similar positions at other large corporations including Integral Systems (President of Midrange Division), Management Reports Inc (President and CEO), Grant Thornton (Partner-In-Charge Cleveland Consulting Division) and Coopers & Lybrand (Director of Information Systems). Dave began his professional career with Arthur Andersen & Co (now Accenture). He was also the majority owner of Snyder International Brewing Group, which owned Cleveland’s Crooked River Brewing Co, Maryland’s Frederick Brewing Company and Cincinnati’s Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewery. Dave is a Cum Laude graduate of Ohio University’s College of Business. He is a member of the College of Business Executive Advisory Board and a former member of the University’s Board of Trustees. Dave also serves on several corporate boards and works with various non-profit organizations.
Joe Burmester – Chief Executive Officer
Joe is a co-founder of Ruralogic and is responsible for the overall direction of the business, including strategic business partnerships and business development initiatives. He is also a co-founder and Partner at Attevo. Joe his extensive background in professional services includes positions as Vice President with Acero, Arsenal Digital Solutions and Computer Associates and as a cofounder of fileFrenzy, an online content management company. Previously, as a Vice President with Realogic, Joe was responsible for the development of the Workgroup Computing consulting practice and ran the Southern region of the firm. He also served as Vice President for Integral Systems, was Partner-In-Charge of the Technology consulting practice for KPMG in the St. Louis region and was Senior Vice President of Operations for Capitol American Life Insurance Company. Joe began his technology career with Arthur Andersen & Co. (now Accenture) after serving three years as a full-time statistics instructor on the faculty of Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Bowling Green State University and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Statistics from Bowling Green State University and is also a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Systems Professional. Joe is active in several community and charitable organizations.
Jim Armstead – Director
Jim Armstead is a Director at Ruralogic focused on Human Resources. Jim is responsible for designing and implementing strategies for the selection, on-boarding and employee development processes to support the fast growth of this unique technology company. Jim will also develop and administer policy, procedures, legal compliance and employee wellness plans throughout the organization. Prior to joining Ruralogic, Jim directed the human resource functions as the Human Resource Manager for several manufacturing companies within the plastics, rubber and food industries. During his twenty plus years of experience, Jim created the human resource function for a startup facility, directed the fast growth of a tire manufacturer during a hundred million dollar expansion, and headed teams to implement employee benefit plans for several multiple location firms. Prior to his career in manufacturing, Jim served as Training Manager for a large retail firm headquartered in Houston, TX and Economic Development Director for an Ohio county. Jim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech University in Business Management and Organizational Behavior.
Joaquin Mendez – Director
Joaquin Mendez is a Director at Ruralogic focused on professional services, operations and client delivery. Prior to joining Ruralogic, Joaquin worked as Director of Program Management at Clearwire, where he was responsible for managing a team of Program Managers who were in charge of multiple software development projects. Previously, Joaquin held Program Management positions with Sentori/MIND CTI, where he was responsible for managing simultaneous software implementation projects in Europe, Africa, the United States and the Caribbean. There he was also in charge of implementing a project management methodology consistent with PMBOK. He has also held other positions in the IT and Telecommunications industry, which have given him extensive experience in selection, development and implementation of software solutions for a wide range of applications. Joaquin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, and an MBA from the University of Maryland; and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
